We currently have vacancies on our governing board and are looking to recruit new members from our local community. There is no requirement to have any links to the school and these vacancies are open to anyone - if you have friends or relatives that may be interested, please pass this information on.
School governors are people from the school or local community who want to make a positive contribution to children’s education. They must be aged 18 or over at the time of their appointment. They are elected to serve on the governing board for a set period of time. Governors come from all different backgrounds and all have various knowledge and experience needed to help the Headteacher make the right decisions for the school. Together they are known as the governing board.
Governors have an important part to play in raising school standards through their three key roles of setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and monitoring and evaluating school performance. You can find further information about what is expected from the role in the attached document.
If this is something you or someone you know would be interested in and you have any questions or require further information, please get in touch through the office email - office@sitwellinfantschool.co.uk.
