Christmas performances
As Christmas is fast approaching, we are currently planning for our annual performance. Sadly, last year we were working in class bubbles so the children were unable to mix together to perform a collaborative show as we would have normally in the past. As we have now moved back to the children mixing more freely, we are planning for the children to work together across classes to create a full performance.
Children in Classes 6, 7 & 8 will be performing Shine Star Shine!
Children in Classes 4 & 5 will be performing The Inn Crowd.
Children in Classes 1, 2 & 3 will be performing Santa's Setbacks.
As usual, we will be practising the songs and talking with the children about who would like to have a speaking or non-speaking role within each play. Our aim is that all children, regardless of whether they have a speaking or non-speaking part, will take part in the performance and be on the stage at some point during the show.
With regards to sharing the performance with parents, we are still deliberating how this will happen. As I am sure many of you are already aware, the COVID infection rates are still very high within Rotherham and this is something that we will need to consider carefully before making our final decision. If we are unable to invite parents in to watch the performance in the hall, we will record the shows and make this available to all parents. Mr Bernard, one of our school governors, is a professional videographer and very kindly records our performances each year so that parents can purchase these. If we make the decision this year that parents are unable to come into school for the show, we will only ask for a minimal donation for a recording of the show so that everyone can order this and enjoy watching it with their children.
We hope you understand the difficult circumstances that we are facing at the moment. Once a decision has been made, we will be in touch immediately to let you know.
Thank you for your continued support.
