Further Protective Measures
Fri 16 Oct 2020Following the Government announcement on Monday and our region being placed in Tier 2 in the high category, senior leaders in both the Junior and Infant Schools have made the decision to ask that parents and carers wear a mask at all times when on school grounds. We are doing this to try and keep all our families safe. As detailed in the government guidance, children do not need to wear a mask.Thank you for your continued support. -
Keyrings on bookbags
Fri 16 Oct 2020We have noticed over the past couple of weeks that there are lots of children who have several keyrings on their bookbags. We know that these keyrings may help your child to know which bookbag is theirs, however under the current circumstances, we are asking parents to make sure their child only has one keyring on their bag and that this is made from plastic. Ones made from fabric are not allowed due to the current guidance.
Please make sure from Monday that your child only has one keyring on their bag.
Thank you.

Mobile Free School Policy
Wed 14 Oct 2020Despite previous emails to advise that our school is a mobile free zone, at the beginning and end of the school day, school staff are still having to remind certain parents that using a mobile phone is not permitted. Sadly, some parents have been quite rude to staff when they have been reminded of our policy. This policy is in place for safeguarding reasons and we expect that every parent will adhere to this when they are on the school grounds. Please make sure you phone is out of sight whilst dropping off and collecting your child.
Thank you for your support.

Names in items of clothing
Wed 14 Oct 2020We have had several reports recently about items of uniform or PE kit going missing. Unfortunately, if your child's name is not written in their clothing, it is very difficult to make sure we can get it back to them. Please write your child's name clearly in each item of clothing.
Thank you.

Home Learning
Sun 11 Oct 2020Now the children are fully settled back into school and our informal assessments are completed, we have begun home learning activities for children in all classes.
Children in Classes 6, 7 and 8 will be focusing their home learning around phonics and handwriting over the next few weeks, and Maths home learning activities will begin in November. Handwriting/phonics activity sheets will be sent home each Friday for you to complete over the week.
Children in Classes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be completing Maths and Phonics home learning on a fortnightly rota and Maths was added to the Class Pages this week. Phonics will be added next Friday.
Please make sure you read at least three times per week with your children and mark this down in their Reading Diary so they can be put forward for a special prize after 6 weeks of reading!
Thank you for your continued support.

Inidividual Photographs
Sun 04 Oct 2020Our external photographer will be in school on Monday morning to take children’s individual photographs. We are unable to do family shots due to the current restrictions in place at the moment, but where we have siblings in different classes, we will make sure that they have a photograph together. Please make sure your child is wearing their full school uniform.
We can’t wait to see you looking smart on Monday!

Road Safety & Parking
Fri 02 Oct 2020We have had several reports this week about parents and carers who are not driving or parking safely around the school entrance. It was reported to us that a child was nearly hit by a car on Wednesday at the end of the school day due to a car reversing on the road. We have also seen irresponsible parking where families cannot walk on the pavement due to cars being parked there. This kind of driving and parking is not acceptable on a busy road such as Grange Road, and we are asking all parents to ensure they do not do this moving forward. Please help us to keep our children safe.
We also had a report yesterday of a parent being rude to others, including swearing, and this was about parking outside of school. Sadly, this was in front of one of our children. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Thank you for your continued support.
