Anti-Bullying
Anti-Bullying @ Sitwell Infant School
We will be focusing on our value of Respect during Anti-Bullying week this year and I am sure that Respecto will be helping us! The theme for anti-bullying week this year is ‘Choose respect’. As last year, as a way to celebrate difference, we would like everyone to wear odd socks on Monday 12th November (and all week if they want to) and show them off in school.
This work around bullying ensures children understand what this kind of behaviour looks like and what they should do if they see something like this happening in school. Using the Sitwell Superheroes, we are constantly focusing on how our words and actions have an impact on others to support them to make the right choices and be kind and gentle to one another. Because of this work across school, instances of bullying are very rare and if anything like this is raised it is taken very seriously and dealt with by senior leaders in school. We want our school to continue to be a happy and safe place to learn and the Sitwell Superheroes are helping us to do this every day!
We are very pleased to inform you that due to our work in school around bullying, we have recently been presented with the Gold Rotherham Anti-Bullying Award. As part of this work, we are going to be creating our very own ‘Anti-Bullying Squad’ made up of parents, staff, children and governors. We are keen for parents who are interested in this work to join our squad. If you are interested, please speak to Mrs Peart or Mrs Razaq.
