Sunflower Class – F2
Welcome to Sunflower Class
We have had a very busy first term and I have been very impressed with the learning that the children have completed already!
This term our topic was "Proud to be me!" We have been learning about ourselves and finding out about other children and we have realised that we are all different and unique!
Our next topic after the Christmas holidays will be "Who's Who", where we will be finding out about real life superheroes.
Please can I remind people to put names in all clothing that the children bring to school including hats, as the children can not always remember if they came in a hat and scarf.
We will continue to use this page to keep you up to date with timings and general tasks that will take place in the year.
Timings
In foundation our school day starts at 8.45am and we finish at 3.15pm.
The children will enter by coming up the slope through the door but at the end of the day we will meet you under the shelter in the outdoor area.
Reading
Everyone has a reading diary and a reading for pleasure book. The reading diaries are collected in on a Monday. If you have read 3 times in the week, I will put a stamp at the top of the page and when you have collected 6 stamps, you can chose a prize from Mrs Peart's prize box.
You will have a reading for pleasure book in your book bag and this will also be changed on a Monday.
Please make sure that book bags are in school every day.
PE
Our main PE session in on a Wednesday with Mr Cowsel. During the summer we will also have another outdoor PE session but we will let you know when that is, closer to the time.
It will depend on the weather as to whether we do this in the hall or outside, so it would be helpful if you have your PE kit in school all the time. With this in mind we will send PE kits home at each holiday. Can you also please make sure you are not wearing your earrings on PE days.
Poetry Journals
On a Thursday we will collect your poetry journals. We will include a new poem each week linked to the learning we have been doing in the class that week. By the end of the year you will have a large bank of poems to share with your grown ups.
We are always here if you need help or support but I know it can be tricky to talk about the beginning or end of the day, so please feel free to email me at - sunflowerclass@sitwellinfantschool.co.uk and I will try to help or point you in the right direction.
