Healthy Schools
At Sitwell Infant School we are working hard to encourage all our children to adopt healthy lifestyles. We deliver 2 hours of physical activity each week, as well as providing children with a range of physical equipment in our outdoor areas. Alongside this, we provide water for all children to drink in class, we have a healthy breakfast club running every day, give free fruit to all children and offer a healthy hot lunch prepared in our own kitchens. All school lunches are planned very carefully to ensure every child receives a broad and balanced diet.
We work closely with a variety of agencies to deliver health messages as part of our curriculum, for example, qualified sports coaches, dental nurses and professional athletes.
We have held the Healthy Schools Award since 2007, with re-accreditation again in 2017.
Below are some policies you may find useful, to find more information about how we are supporting our young children to lead healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.
If your child is going to bring a packed lunch to school, please ensure this is a healthy, balanced meal with not too many sweet treats. Please find an information leaflet below to help you with this.
