As many of you will already be aware, devastating floods have hit Pakistan, submerging vast areas of land and leaving 6 million people in need of urgent help. The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called it a "climate catastrophe". Whole villages have been cut off, with rescuers struggling to reach them. At least 1,600 people have been killed and 12,865 injured. We know that some of our families have relatives that have been directly impacted by these floods.
After finding out about this crisis in class assemblies, we have made the decision to try to raise funds to help some of those people in need in Pakistan. Children can come to school dressed in their own clothes on Friday 21st October and we are asking for a donation towards the appeal. All funds raised will be donated via DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee). You can find out more about their work here: https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/pakistan-floods-appeal
We know that times are difficult at the moment, so we are just asking for any donation that you can make at this time. It will all go towards making a difference to those affected.
Thank you for your continued support.
